Ninital lies in the Kumaon Hills in the state of
Uttaranchal. At a distance of 67 km from Almora, the hill station is a hot
favourite of trekkers and water sports enthusiasts. While on the one hand it
quenches the thirst for adventure, on the other it is laden with vantage
points affording some of the most heart-stirring views. Promenading through
the Mall on horseback is yet another lure for tourists here. And if a
distance of 115 km doesn't weigh heavily on your mind, you could head
straight to the Corbett National Park to spot pristine flora and fauna at
close quarters.

» Naina Peak - For those who are looking for a
picnic spot, Naina Peak serves the best. The place lies at a distance of 5.6
km from the town. Feast you eyes upon a panoramic view of Nainital and the
snow-capped peaks of the mighty Himalayas. Visit the place to take in fresh
air, relax under the shade of trees and to listen to the soothing songs of
birds.
» Dorothy Seat - The Dorothy Seat or Tiffin Top,
that affords breathtaking views of the Himalayas and the surroundings, is a
commemoration to Mrs Dorothy Kellet built by her husband. Trekking and horse
riding are nice options to enjoy the sights.
» Snow View - Snow View is yet another fascinating
vantage point to relish the sights of the shimmering snows and the
surroundings. 2.42 km from the town, the spot is never to be missed. One can
enjoy trekking, horse riding and cable car rides here.
» Land's End - The Land's End is the next spot to
enjoy. It's not actually the land's end, however, it can make you think and
feel such. Stunning views of surrounding hills, valleys and above all the
Khurpata Lake can be had from here.
» St. John-In-The-Wilderness - The antiquated
edifice lies close to the Uttaranchal High Court. It was long back in the
year 1844 when the site was preferred for the church. Beautiful interiors
and stained window glasses add to the charm of the place all the more.

Climate of Nainital
March to June is summer time which is the best time to be at a hill station
in India. However, September to October time is also pleasant to visit here.
Monsoon that extends from July to August are preferably avoided.
Getting There
Kathgodam is the closest railway station from here. There are regular taxi
and bus services available from Kathgodam and Lalkuan. Stat transport,
inter- state and private bus services are also available connecting Nainital
to the key destinations of the state and the country.
